Printing the Future

Welcome to Week Seven of our "Art of Cooling" series, where innovation meets artistry in PC building! This week, we’re back with another ingenious creation by Aaron Howe from Camas, WA. Aaron has expertly crafted a PC build that uniquely mimics the design of a 3D printer, and to many, it strikingly resembles an old-school movie projector. Centered around the powerful Intel Arc GPU, this build not only showcases cutting-edge technology but also a creative homage to classic engineering. Join us as we explore the intricate details and inspired design of Aaron’s latest project.

What was the inspiration for the build?

I wanted to show off a new tech at the time (Intel ARC) with the idea that the 3D printer was printing the GPU.

What components did you use?

Case: Mingda Magician X
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K
Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i-17xx Chromax.Black
Mobo: Asus RoG Z690-I Gaming Wifi ITX
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB 2x32 5600 CL30
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB
GPU: Intel Arc A770
PSU: HDPLEX 800W DC-ATX

What tips would you offer other builders?

Planning for a build like that involves a clear concept in my mind, being able to relay that information to either paper or to a 3d model, and then break down the larger task at hand into smaller ones that are easier accomplished. The build was roughly a month of my spare time, so probably like 8-10 days of work.

Congratulations to Aaron for winning $100 worth of Aqua Computer gear to further enhance this magnificent build.
